I was lucky enough to spend my last days of 2012 and my first days of 2013 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico 🙂
My family and I stayed at the Solmar Resort located right at the tip of the peninsula. Although the weather wasn’t as great as it normal is that time of year, we were still able to enjoy laying poolside, exploring the town and, of course, the amazing food!
I’ve highlighted a few of the delicious meals we had below:
To say we enjoyed our New Years Eve dinner at Maca would be an understatement. It was by far the best meal of the trip. We ordered the Croquetas De Jamon Serrano (Prosciuto Croquetts), Palto Manchego (Spanish Cheese) & Alcachofa Horneada (Baked Artichoke) as our appetizers.
For dinner we shared the following:
Paella de Mariscos (Seafood Paella)
Gambas Al Ajillo (Shrimp with Garlic)
Costillas de Res (Beef Short Ribs)
For dessert we had Leche Frita (Fried Milk) and…
Crema Catalana (Catalan Cream) – The Catalan version of crème brulée
We also enjoyed a few glasses of Clase Azul Tequila. One of Mexico’s finest tequilas served with an orange instead of a lime.
After a night out, my friends and I enjoyed our first meal of 2013 at a local hot spot called Tacos Guss. They served fresh tacos and burritos with a platter of toppings and salsas.
Chicken, Beef and Carnitas Tacos
Chicken, Bean, Cheese & Rice Burrito
While staying at the Solmar,we enjoyed brunch daily at the resort’s main restaurant, El Tejaban. We also ate lunch there a few times and ordered the fajitas, taquitos and tacos.
Fried Eggs, Bacon, Beans and Hash Browns
Fresh Fruit, Yogurt and Granola
Waffles with a Fruit Salsa
I’m not going to lie, writing this post has made me very hungry and eager to go back.
Hasta la próxima vez!
